Where we started
Lantana didn’t begin as a treatment center. It began as a sober house — started by people in recovery who knew exactly what was missing, because they’d needed it themselves.
2018
A house in Charleston
Lantana Recovery is founded in Charleston, South Carolina by Eric Carver, Warren Phillips, and partners as a structured sober living facility. The Charleston area offered an abundance of peer-support, educational, and employment opportunities for people in early recovery — but almost no options for supportive housing. Lantana was built to fill that gap.
2020
Clinical care joins the house
Lantana adds clinical programming — serving clients in Lantana housing and clients living in the wider Charleston community. Housing alone was never the whole answer; structured treatment alongside a real recovery community was.
Growth
A full care team takes shape
The team grows to include medical and clinical staff, outreach, admissions, peer support, and case management. Programming expands so care intensifies when it needs to — and steps down gradually as clients reintegrate into the community.
2025
A second campus in New England
Lantana opens its New Milford, Connecticut location — bringing the same three-tiered care model and recovery community north, with full clinical programming at 143 West St in the heart of Litchfield County.
Today
Two states, one standard
Headquartered at 65 Gadsden St in Charleston, with the New Milford campus and an outreach network across South Carolina, Georgia, and Connecticut. Joint Commission accredited, in-network with major insurance — and still run on the model it was founded on.
Lantana Recovery is accredited and licensed to treat Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and co-occurring behavioral health diagnoses on an outpatient basis — read more about our treatment philosophy or see our published client outcomes.
Outreach offices (5 additional locations across SC, GA & CT)▾
We also maintain outreach offices for local intake, assessment, and family support in several surrounding metro areas, with transportation coordinated into full programming at Charleston or New Milford.
