What is the difference between PHP and IOP?

PHP (Partial Hospitalization) is the most structured program, with full clinical days six days a week and a dedicated three-person treatment team. IOP (Intensive Outpatient) steps down to about three hours of group therapy per day, leaving room for work and family. A 10 to 15 minute clinical pre-assessment determines the right starting point.

How long does treatment take?

Most clients complete PHP in about 4 to 6 weeks and IOP in roughly 6 to 10 weeks, depending on location and clinical need. Length of stay is driven by client progress and the treatment team rather than a fixed calendar.

Yes. For clients who are medically appropriate, the medical team provides outpatient withdrawal management, with a same-day appointment with the associate medical director, usually within hours. If a higher level of detox is needed, Lantana arranges concierge placement at a trusted partner facility and welcomes clients back afterward.

Can I live at Lantana during treatment?

Yes. Lantana Living, the certified recovery-residence housing arm, offers staffed sober living in both Charleston and New Milford, with clinical and peer support staff embedded in the community. Combined with six days a week of PHP, it creates a residential-style experience without a locked-down facility. Housing is optional and ideal for clients traveling to treatment.

Will my family be involved?

If you want them to be. The primary therapist identifies the family members you choose to involve, keeps them educated and informed, and can arrange optional family sessions. Families also get free access to Stigma, the virtual family support program held every Tuesday evening, open to families whether their loved one is considering treatment, currently enrolled, or long since graduated.
