Eleanor Bryant
Associate Clinical Director
Eleanor grew up on the East Coast riding horses and playing lacrosse. She attended an all-women’s college in the Virginia Blue Ridge for her undergraduate degree, where she also played collegiate sports.
After graduation, Eleanor worked as a professional guide and operations director around the world—including in Antarctica, Alaska, and Russia. During COVID, she worked on an ambulance and directed a college outdoor program while earning her advanced degree. She then pivoted to mental health care, focusing on victims of crime, couples, and women involved in intimate partner violence (IPV).
After recognizing the significant overlap between these populations and substance use disorders (SUD), Eleanor developed a strong interest in the therapeutic treatment of SUD, with an emphasis on neurobiological impacts and their intersection with trauma and lived experience through a neuroscientific lens.
Eleanor believes that moral neutrality, stigma disruption, and shame reduction are essential elements of long-term recovery. She has a dog named Ethel, enjoys competing in triathlons and traveling, and spends her free time participating in any on-water or boating activity she can.
