Mandy Prescott
IOP Primary Therapist
been involved in the recovery community in some capacity for over 15 years. She
started working in an official capacity at the Charleston Center, where she earned
her Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification while working her way up from a
recovery assistant to a clinical counselor. She has also earned her certificate
as a Harm Reduction Specialist. Mandy has experience working in outpatient,
medication-assisted treatment, and residential services. She has an undergraduate in religious studies and values herself as an active member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Mandy values people and engages in the therapeutic relationship from a person-centered approach. She regularly participates in community events that prioritize educating the public on the disease model of addiction as well as facilitating Narcan trainings that promote harm reduction and saving lives.
Mandy’s person-centered approach stems from a vast array of personal experience with addiction as well as a multitude of experience working
in different fields with different populations. Whether it be working as a convenience store manager or behind the scenes as a 9-1-1 operator, she brings a wealth of life experience and humility that fuels efforts to gain a deeper understanding of various experiences and backgrounds with respect for all unique paths and journeys that have led clients into treatment.
During her free time, Mandy enjoys movies, comedy shows, being
outdoors, and spending as much time as possible with her lovely fiancé, Hannah.
And nothing quite beats the fun of a good ol’ retro video game.
