Shaping Your Path to Recovery

Key takeaways:

  •

“Substance use dependence is increasingly recognized as a chronic relapsing condition that may last for decades and requires multiple episodes of care over many years before reaching a sustained state of abstinence” (Addiction Recovery: A Systomized Review, Inanlou et al., 2020) and completing an addiction treatment program is an amazing accomplishment. You have been working toward bettering your life by changing negative behaviors and thought patterns. The next step is to apply the recovery skills you’ve been learning in a more independent setting. This transition has the possibility of being an overwhelming and uncertain time.

While participating in treatment, there has been a supportive structure to your life. Your daily routine has followed a very specific and ordered pattern. Thinking about leaving the safe and supportive environment of a treatment facility can seem daunting. It is critical for your success that you have plans, strategies, and supports in place to help you maintain sobriety when you are on your own.

Integrative Treatment

At Lantana Recovery, we have implemented a treatment protocol that uniquely integrates a variety of holistic practices into our clients’ lives. We want to give each person the best chance for achieving sustained recovery. Our philosophy consists of addressing a person’s needs holistically so we can help them recover fully.

The community-based approach that we employ in our facilities helps our clients feel empowered. Clients are learning new skills and new ways to navigate challenges. Additionally, clients also receive support in applying those skills in structured clinical and social settings. By reinforcing the practical use of the knowledge they have gained, Lantana strives to make the road to independence a smooth one.

Holistic Care

Incorporating a holistic health mindset into our client’s lives requires addressing all five components that contribute to a complete sense of well-being. At Lantana, we aim to help our clients with their unique spiritual, emotional, mental, social, and physical needs. Our compassionate team supports our clients in finding a sense of purpose through activities, group services, and evidence-based therapies.

Raising awareness and teaching mindfulness practices is at the heart of holistic health. The Lantana team will help you find exercises and activities that address each of these areas of well-being. Some examples may include:

  • Reflection and meditation exercises
  • Physical fitness programs
  • Organized social activities
  • Rewarding mental pursuits

Finding the right path to sobriety is different for every person. We want to help our clients shape their recovery through connections in the Charleston community. We believe that the Lowcountry provides a unique landscape that we can use to support holistic health.

Empowerment Program

The Empowerment Program is the core program offered at Lantana Recovery. Our clients are teamed up with a primary therapist, a psychiatrist, a case manager, and a recovery coach. They are provided with a multilayered structure and support while they move through the program’s phases. Studies have found that empowerment and co-design are effective tools to develop and implement culturally tailored health promotion programs.

Phase One

During phase one of our Empowerment Program, we help our clients leave the chaotic world of addiction. We help them stabilize their life and orient themselves on a new path.

Phase one contains the highest level of accountability and structure. Clients will benefit mainly from daily clinical services designed to help them meet their immediate physical and mental health needs. They will have the opportunity to attend community recovery support meetings. Lantana also supports our clients in participating in community-based recreation activities on the weekends.

Phase Two

The second phase of the Empowerment Program begins when a client is in a position to safely acquire more autonomy. During this phase, clinical services decrease, and clients begin to increase their participation in community services. The structure of their day will change as they become more independent. At Lantana, we believe that this integration period is crucial to an individual’s long-term sobriety. We are committed to providing any support our clients need while reshaping their lives.

Continuing Support

The programs offered at Lantana Recovery are designed to be different. We believe that clients have the best chances for success if they are able to receive clinical services, develop coping skills and utilize community support all while remaining in the Charleston community. Empowering our clients by helping them utilize the same community resources they will have access to once they become more independent in their treatment process is a key factor in our treatment philosophy.

At Lantana, we appreciate the complexity of life and the uniqueness of every individual. We understand that recovery does not occur on a linear path. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to addiction recovery, and our clients will likely experience some challenges along the way. Our programs are designed to support our clients in overcoming their challenges.

Lantana clients are provided with a continuum of care so they have the best chance of maintaining their sobriety. The multi-disciplinary approach and holistic therapies we provide are uniquely designed to help our clients transition through the stages of recovery knowing they have resources and support behind them. With our long-term continuing support and services, we are confident in our ability to help you achieve lasting success in recovery.

Bottom Line

Making the transition from a treatment facility to independent living can be a stressful and uncertain time. Having a customized plan for success and the support of medical and mental health professionals will make the process much less overwhelming. At Lantana Recovery, we understand that support in addiction treatment is just the beginning of what our clients need to experience success in sobriety. We want to empower each individual with skills and holistic practices that will enable them to meet their goals and thrive.
