Lantana Recovery delivers partial hospitalization program through structured outpatient care in Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT — Joint Commission accredited and in-network with major commercial insurance. Access is the real bottleneck in addiction care: SAMHSA's 2023 National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that of the 48.5 million Americans aged 12 or older who needed substance use treatment that year, only 15.6% actually received it. Same-day insurance verification and a fast ASAM-based assessment are built to close that gap. Why Choose Lantana Recovery's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) A three-tiered treatment team — medical, clinical, and case management — treating the whole person. Board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) oversight from day one. Joint Commission accredited and in-network with major commercial insurance. A genuine recovery community that continues long after treatment ends. Two locations: Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT — in person or virtual where appropriate. What Is the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)? The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the most structured outpatient level of addiction treatment: full clinical treatment days while clients live at home or in sober housing rather than in a locked facility. PHP corresponds to ASAM Level 2.5 — the most structured outpatient level of care in the American Society of Addiction Medicine's continuum, providing 20 or more hours of treatment per week without an overnight stay. At Lantana Recovery, this level of care is delivered by a three-tiered treatment team — medical, clinical, and case management — so the biological, behavioral, and environmental sides of addiction are addressed together, in Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT. What to Expect A personalized treatment plan built around your goals and clinical needs Board-certified PMHNP oversight from day one Gender-sensitive, process-based group therapy plus weekly individual sessions Family involvement and a recovery community that continues after treatment Who It's For Our admissions team uses an ASAM-based assessment to match you to the right level of care — stepping up for more structure or stepping down as you stabilize. Levels of Care at Lantana Recovery Care is matched to clinical need and adjusted as you progress through the continuum: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) — structured clinical days, Monday–Saturday, our most intensive outpatient level of care. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — process and psychoeducational groups with the flexibility to keep working or studying. Outpatient Detox & Withdrawal Management — medically supervised, when clinically appropriate, with same-day evaluation. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT/MOUD) — evidence-based medication managed by a board-certified PMHNP. Sober Living (Lantana Living) — staffed, supportive housing paired with clinical programming. Insurance & Admissions Most major commercial insurance plans are accepted, and verifying your benefits is free and confidential. Our admissions team is available 24/7 — call 866-997-2870 for a same-day benefits check and an ASAM-based phone assessment. PHP vs IOP: What Is the Difference? The difference between PHP and IOP is time and intensity: PHP is full clinical treatment days — 20 or more hours per week — while IOP runs a smaller number of weekly sessions that fit around work, school, or family. Most Lantana clients start in PHP for about 4–6 weeks, then step down into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for roughly 6–10 weeks as stability grows. ## Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Addiction Treatment Source: https://lantanarecovery.com/treatment-programs/intensive-outpatient-iop/ Looking for intensive outpatient program? Lantana Recovery delivers intensive outpatient program through structured outpatient care in Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT — Joint Commission accredited and in-network with major commercial insurance. IOP corresponds to ASAM Level 2.1 — the American Society of Addiction Medicine's criteria call for a minimum of 9 hours of structured treatment per week, typically delivered across 3 sessions. Why Choose Lantana Recovery's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) A three-tiered treatment team — medical, clinical, and case management — treating the whole person. What Is the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)? The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured level of addiction treatment built around multiple group and individual therapy sessions each week — more intensive than standard outpatient care, and less time-intensive than PHP — while clients keep living at home, working, or studying. IOP sits between PHP and standard outpatient care: more weekly clinical hours than the Standard Outpatient Program (OP), and fewer than PHP's 20-plus. IOP is typically the right middle when you need real structure but must keep work, school, or family in place — and OP is the level most clients step down into afterward. ## Standard Outpatient Program (OP) in New Milford, CT Source: https://lantanarecovery.com/treatment-programs/outpatient-rehab/ Looking for outpatient rehab? Lantana Recovery delivers outpatient rehab through structured outpatient care in Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT — Joint Commission accredited and in-network with major commercial insurance. Outpatient care sits at the base of the ASAM continuum, matched to clinical need through the same criteria used to place patients into every higher level of care. Why Choose Lantana Recovery's Standard Outpatient Program (OP) A three-tiered treatment team — medical, clinical, and case management — treating the whole person. What Is the Standard Outpatient Program (OP)? The Standard Outpatient Program (OP) is the lowest-intensity structured level of addiction treatment: regular individual and group sessions, typically a few hours per week, for clients stepping down from PHP or IOP or maintaining recovery with ongoing clinical support. Our admissions team is available 24/7 — call 866-997-2870 for a same-day benefits check and an ASAM-based phone assessment. OP vs IOP: What Is the Difference? Standard outpatient (OP) involves fewer weekly clinical hours than IOP — typically a few sessions per week rather than a near-daily schedule — which makes OP the maintenance level most clients step down into rather than start at. ## Outpatient Detox for Drug & Alcohol Addiction Source: https://lantanarecovery.com/treatment-programs/outpatient-detox/ Looking for outpatient detox? A genuine recovery community that continues long after treatment ends. Two locations: Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT — in person or virtual where appropriate. What Is the Outpatient Detox? What Moving Into Charleston PHP Actually Looks Like Most clients begin in our Partial Hospitalization Program rather than IOP, because PHP provides the structure and clinical contact hours needed to stabilize early in treatment — IOP becomes appropriate once that stabilization has happened. Assessment and intake typically move quickly: an ASAM-based clinical assessment is completed up front, and our recovery management team gets involved from day one to coordinate the practical pieces — transportation to Charleston and placement into CARR-certified sober living, arranged before or alongside the first days of programming. The first week generally centers on individual sessions with the clinical team, group therapy, and an initial psychiatric evaluation with our board-certified PMHNP where medication needs are assessed. Family involvement typically begins early as well, not as an afterthought later in treatment. As stability builds, clients step down from PHP into IOP — a transition that, in practice, often plays out over several weeks, with a period of PHP followed by a longer stretch of IOP as clinical intensity decreases. Treatment doesn't end at discharge. Clients moving out of IOP typically continue in sober living for a period afterward while attending outpatient groups, and stay connected through aftercare and alumni contact — continued touchpoints that reflect what we've seen support longer-term recovery. ## Drug & Alcohol Rehab in New Milford, CT — 143 West St Source: https://lantanarecovery.com/connecticut/new-milford-ct/ Lantana Recovery's New Milford facility serves Litchfield County with DBT-based PHP, IOP, standard outpatient, and staffed sober living — a boutique clinical program built for the region. How IOP Actually Fits Around Work and Family Our Intensive Outpatient Program at New Milford is built to run alongside work and family obligations rather than replace them. A typical week includes several in-person sessions combining group and individual therapy, with medication management coordinated separately through our board-certified PMHNP for clients who need it. Many clients enter IOP directly as a step down from PHP — commonly after several weeks of PHP followed by a longer stretch of IOP as intensity decreases — while others transition in directly from a prior inpatient or residential stay elsewhere, arriving already stabilized and ready for a less intensive level of care. Family involvement is part of the process, not separate from it, and our clinical team works to connect clients with the local 12-step recovery community — sponsorship, step work, and ongoing fellowship — so that support extends beyond scheduled sessions. As clients progress, session frequency and intensity are adjusted, moving toward standard outpatient care as stability increases. # Company & Trust ## Home Page Source: https://lantanarecovery.com/ Alcohol & Drug Rehab in South Carolina & Connecticut Lantana Recovery A modern, community-based approach to addiction treatment for Men and Women in SC and CT 866-997-2870 Submit Form Hope Blossoms Here What is Lantana Recovery? We built the treatment center we wished had existed when we needed one: real clinical depth, delivered by people who understand what early recovery actually feels like, without the isolation of a locked-down facility or the impersonal feel of a corporate chain. We believe there is no one-size-fits-all model for addiction treatment. Every client works with a three-tiered care team — medical, clinical, and case management — from day one, addressing the mental, emotional, physical, and practical sides of recovery together rather than treating one and deferring the rest. Our story Lantana Recovery began in Charleston, South Carolina, built by founders who had been through addiction treatment themselves and knew firsthand what was missing from the traditional model: real accountability, a genuine peer community, and a clinical team invested for the long term, not just through discharge. That same standard now extends across two states and a growing outreach network, but the model hasn't changed — every client still gets the same three-tiered care team and the same standard of individualized programming that Lantana was founded on. What makes Lantana different A three-tiered clinical team, not a single counselor. Every client works with a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, a licensed primary therapist, and a case-manager-level recovery manager — together, from day one. Joint Commission accredited and in-network with major commercial insurance across both our Charleston, SC and New Milford, CT locations. Founded by people in recovery, which still shapes how we train staff, structure programming, and hold ourselves accountable to clients and families. A real alumni community that continues long after discharge — clients consistently say the relationships they built here outlasted the program itself. They recognized that the Charleston, S.C. area offered an abundance of peer-support, educational and employment opportunities for individuals in early recovery, yet lacked options for supportive housing. In 2020, Lantana added clinical programming to serve clients in Lantana housing, as well as clients living in the Charleston community. The Lantana Recovery has grown to include medical and clinical staff, outreach, admissions, peer support and case management services. Clinical programming has expanded to include increased care while still allowing clients to gradually reintegrate into the community as clinical services decrease. Lantana clients are immediately empowered to apply skills they learn in our structured clinical and social settings to daily life in the community. Clients are provided the tools and support to build their own foundation and voice in recovery while developing increased autonomy as they progress through the program. The goal for every client is to become independent and self-sufficient. We do, however, recognize that recovery does not occur on a linear path and understand there will be challenges along the way. The Lantana program is designed to address the typical challenges individuals face in early recovery. We appreciate the complexity of life and utilize a multidisciplinary approach, in conjunction with holistic therapies, to treat each client as an individual. Start living sober today! After your pre-screen is reviewed and approved, our admissions coordinator will schedule your in-person clinical assessment. During the assessment, one of our clinicians will take a deeper dive into your history and develop goals for treatment based on your strengths, needs, and preferences. Following the assessment, you can begin your treatment experience. Treatment for Substance Use Disorder is covered by most commercial insurance policies. If you wish to use insurance, the potential client can provide basic information from their insurance card during the prescreen. Once these details are provided, Lantana Recovery will retrieve the behavioral health benefits to review with the client, including any deductible or out-of-pocket costs, for which the client or family may be responsible. For clients without insurance or behavioral health coverage, Lantana offers financial assistance for those who qualify. Alternatively, Lantana partners with Lightstream to finance treatment at a low interest rate. For more information, call our admissions department at (843) 352 - 9982.
