How much does outpatient rehab cost?

The decision to seek help with your addiction can be a tough one. Not to mention, it involves several factors that you will need to consider before joining a particular program. You may wonder whether you’ll have to spend a lengthy duration with doctors and therapists and how that may impact your loved ones and your work life.

All these are just a few of the questions that come to mind when one thinks of enrolling into substance abuse treatment. One of the most important factors that most people talk about is the cost of drug treatment and whether your insurance provider can cover it in the long run.

Your health insurance coverage can cover most rehabilitation costs but some private institutions may not accept your chosen insurance provider for addiction treatment. All of this can be quite jarring when deciding on enrolling in drug abuse treatment, but luckily, we are here to clarify many of these issues for you.

What is outpatient addiction treatment?

Outpatient drug abuse treatment requires patients to visit the medical facility on a daily basis to attend seminars, therapies, group counseling, educational sessions, and medical tests, etc. Unlike inpatient detox, outpatient detox programs do not require patients to stay at the facility for any duration.

You can enroll into the treatment centers without having to take leave from work, or leave your loved ones behind. Outpatient detox allows you to fix the right time for sessions so you can accommodate your work schedule and also give your family and friends time.

Furthermore, outpatient alcohol rehab and addiction treatment do not provide facilities such as gyms, cafeterias, computer labs, libraries, etc. While this is expected at any good inpatient detox facility, it is not provided at outpatient detox centers.

An outpatient detox program will have a primary medical professional and therapist who conducts your daily sessions and provides mental health services administration as well as keep note of any instances of substance abuse. They will also engage you in sessions such as family therapy, group counseling, self-evaluation, individualized therapy, etc., to help make the withdrawal process easier and manageable.

Additionally, you might also be asked to appear for routine drug tests to ensure that you are not consuming any substances while away from the medical detox facility. Unlike inpatient detox centers, an outpatient rehab facility is far more affordable and does not require health insurance coverage. You may also have to enroll in outpatient rehab more than once depending on your recovery process and progress.

Usually, outpatient treatments are part of ongoing recovery and are a step-down phase to inpatient detox. Upon successful completion of the latter, patients are advised to enroll in outpatient care to avoid future life threatening instances, risks of relapse, severe alcohol withdrawal, etc.

Factors to Consider When Joining Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment

Before you enroll in an outpatient detox program, you should carefully consider what it entails and the steps involved in long term recovery to achieve sobriety.

An outpatient detox program is often short term compared to inpatient treatment. It is mostly suitable for those with mild drug addiction symptoms and who do not need the same level of intensive care.

It is also often a step-down phase after a successful inpatient treatment program and is suggested to patients so they can continue their recovery journey even after their inpatient treatment is completed.

This form of addiction treatment is also cheaper and allows you to stay with family whilst also continuing work on schedule.

However, if you lack the support at home from friends and family and if you are suffering from greater levels of drug addiction, then it is best to enroll in an inpatient detox program instead to deal with the withdrawal process effectively.

Types of Outpatient Alcohol Rehab Services

There are different types of outpatient services that you can opt for depending on your condition and doctor’s recommendation. However, the first step to any outpatient treatment is a successful detox phase. While most detox programs are inpatient, you can still opt for outpatient services so long as you are not at a high risk of drug abuse or severe withdrawal symptoms.

Firstly, the standard outpatient program requires you to visit the center several times a few to attend therapies, counseling sessions, seminars, educational talks, etc. These also include mental health services administration as well as learning coping skills to combat alcohol addiction and dependence on other harmful substances. Standard alcohol rehab treatments are less intensive than inpatient rehab.

Secondly, intensive outpatient programs are much shorter but more intense than standard outpatient treatments but less so than inpatient programs. These require drug testing, therapy, health monitoring, and a careful track of your milestones along the way.

Thirdly, partial hospitalization programs are far more intensive on the scale of most outpatient programs. These are designed for individuals who suffer from moderate to severe levels of drug addiction but who cannot stay at rehab centers as in case of residential treatment and inpatient drug and alcohol rehab. These require daily, lengthy visits, medication administration, acute therapies, group counseling, etc. These are also helpful in case you are suffering from mental health disorders.

How much does outpatient alcohol rehab cost?

At Lantana Recovery, clients have the option to enroll in a Phase 1-only, 4-week program or the entire 8 week intensive outpatient treatment.

The cost of addiction treatment entirely depends on the type of insurance you have. For those with an insurance package, alcohol rehab can cost as little as $3000 and up to $22000 for those without insurance. It also depends on the duration of the outpatient program.

You can also choose to avail your drug and alcohol addiction treatment in the comfort of your home, surrounded by loved ones. Or, you can board with us! If you wish to stay with us while opting for the 4-week, phase-1 program, then it can cost as little as $75 per day with insurance and up to $575 without insurance. If you choose the 8-week complete program and choose to room with us at the Lantana Recovery drug rehab center, then it will cost as little as $75 per day with insurance and up to $373 per day.

On the other hand, if you choose to stay at home and receive substance abuse treatment, this can cost $500 per day for Phase 1 without health insurance or as little as $0 per day with insurance, which also depends on deductibles. Phase 2 services at home can cost up to $300 per day without insurance and $0 per day with insurance, depending on deductibles.

We at Lantana are also in network with major commercial health insurance providers that helps reduce financial stress and keeps treatment prices extremely low so all may benefit from its substance abuse treatment. Always speak to your insurance provider beforehand in case you qualify for cuts or free outpatient treatment services.

Health Insurance Considerations for Treatment Centers

We recommend that you check with your insurance plan provider, be it private insurance companies or others. Most insurance providers cover most or at the very least, some drug addiction treatment costs. Thus, the golden question is how much should you expect to pay after the insurance claims are submitted?

You should also check other factors such as whether your provider is in-network or out-of-network and whether you have a certain limit in terms of what can be covered or the number of days that private insurance can cover for your drug and alcohol rehab cost at the treatment center.

Most well-known and reputable alcohol rehab facilities will accept major insurance plans.
